Team Columbia Vidaraid was invited to join the RockyMan Adventure Challenge, the greatest multisport relay competition in Brazil. Twenty teams of different countries including USA, Argentina, New Zealand, France, Spain and Brazil got together in the beautiful Ipanema beach for a very tough competition.
Teams of five people battled for the U$35,000 prize money distributed among the individual competitions of surfing, climbing, mountain biking, mountain running, stand-up paddling as well as the team’s modalities of outrigger canoe paddling and team running. The competition was won by Team USA followed by Team New Zealand. Columbia Vidaraid was representing Spain and finished in the 9th position.
It was a very tough race where individual skills really made the different. Team Columbia Vidaraid chose to stick with the Adventure Race team to face the best athletes in each modalities. The team struggle a little at the individual modalities, specially the ones that are not part of our training routine. However at the team's modalitis Columbia Vidaraid did extremelly well getting a top 3 position. The race was an excellent training for Columbia Vidaraid to get prepared for the Adventure Race World Championship in Costa Rica.
